THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: I rarely venture outside the blogosphere as The Catholic Knight (TCK), but in this particular case I felt the cause was worthy enough and the people were certainly friendly enough. It was the Obama administration's recent HHS mandate against the Catholic Church that finally pushed me over the line. The gloves are off now. No longer will I tolerate this wicked government in Washington DC. Henceforth, I will seek the independence of my people. So I granted an audio interview with the Southern Nationalist Network, or SNN, which is a news and commentary outlet chronicling the rise of the new Southern nationalist movement in Dixie.

My regular readers know I am a Dixie Nationalist, a son of the South by heritage, and like the Scottish independence movement in the UK, I anticipate the day when our nation can finally be liberated from this imperial regime in the US.

Leave of Absence

The Catholic Knight will be taking an extended leave of absence from the blogosphere effective immediately. To my loyal readers I am sorry. To those who despise my work, please know it will remain in the Internet indefinitely.

I want to thank you all for your support, emails, comments and most of all your prayers. Please know that I would not leave you without good reason. I covet only your continued prayers and I ask that you take what I've tried to give you all and build upon it, in whatever capacity the Lord has given you.

As of this date, The Catholic Knight blog registers about one-thousand unique visitors a day. About four-hundred of you are regular readers and frequently return. I am so glad to have reached so many and I feel honoured that you let my words be a part of your lives for so long.

I may be back someday, but I don't know when or how. Some of you know this has been a long time coming. I first announced this intention almost a year ago. The time has come now for me to tend to other business, much of it family related. God bless you all, and thank you for the privilege of letting me write for you.

THE KNIGHT'S ARMORY

Dear readers, thank you so much for your patronage.  Some time ago I posted an entry in which I indicated this blog would go inactive after the start of the New English Missal on November 27, 2011.  Shortly thereafter I received a flood of emails begging me not to quit blogging.  Some of them were very touching.  Many of them indicated that this blog has served as a "ministry" that has helped them in their walk of faith.  Some even stated that their conversion to the Catholic Church was due in large part to this blog. Needless to say, after such a flood of positive support and appeals to keep blogging, I talked it over with my wife and we decided I should keep it going.

Now with that said comes the other shoe to drop.  You will notice that in the upper corner of the left sidebar is a new link to THE KNIGHT'S ARMORY.  Actually, this is an old idea I had a long time ago, but it has now been resurrected for present use.  I don't really want to go into the details as to why I was contemplating a shut down of this blog a while back, but suffice it to say that my wife and I agree it needs to be a little more "productive" to justify the time I put into it.  Now there are many other bloggers out there who regularly ask for donations to their blogging ministry.  I have resolved from the beginning never to do this.  I received the message I preach free of charge, and I will not leave my readers with the impression that they should donate for the same message.  If it came to me free of charge, than I will pass it on to you the same way.  So instead of requesting donations, I decided instead to open a web store through Amazon.com.  That way my readers can shop to acquire actual things while a portion of the proceeds go directly to me, which in turn go toward my childrens' education in Catholic school.  So by shopping through THE KNIGHT'S ARMORY, you're not only helping this blogger, but you're helping his kids and their local parish school.  By simply clicking on the link, and visiting the store, you can order from the items I've provided, or you can search for more items (not necessarily Catholic related), and a portion of every dollar you spend helps us out.

I feel a lot better about doing it this way.  By taking donations, it would be like you're paying for what I write on this blog, and I've always resolved that I would provide this blog free of charge.  However, by providing a web store, you're getting something tangible for your money, and you're helping my family out at the same time.  The way I see it, this is the way it should be.

Countdown To The New English Translation Of The Mass

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  Above you will see a clock that counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the beginning of the new English mass translation. The clock is set to run on your web browser's internal timer. So it is set relative to your time zone. This means when the clock runs down to zero, it will be November 26, 2011 at 4:00 PM in your area. That is when the new English mass translation will be in full effect, and the old English mass will have been permanently suppressed. Thanks be to God!

The poor English mass translation we've been using for the last forty years has been a bulwark of the Modernist occupation of the English-speaking Church. It has allowed liberals within the Church to get away with all sorts of liturgical innovation and poor catechesis. That's not to say that liturgical innovation and poor catechesis will stop with the new translation. On the contrary, liberals will probably try all that much harder to hang on to what they've created. However, with the old translation suppressed, it's going to be a lot harder for them to do that, and the playing field has just been tilted in favor of Traditionalists within the Church. Slowly over time, Tradition will make advances as the Modernists retreat in a gradual 5 to 10 year war of attrition from that time forward. The Modernist English mass we are all so painfully familiar with today will be radically diminished by 2016 and virtually extinct by 2021.  As I said, the new English translation is a game changer. I'm not alone in this assumption, as the U.S. Catholic bishops have made a similar (albeit veiled) admission on their website promoting the new translation...

What will happen after the texts are used in liturgical celebrations?
The long-term goal of the new translation is to foster a deeper awareness and appreciation of the mysteries being celebrated in the Liturgy. The axiom lex orandi, lex credendi — “what we pray is what we believe” — suggests that there is a direct relationship between the content of our prayers and the substance of our faith. It is hoped that writers will start to provide materials reflecting on the rich content of the text. These contributions might encourage priests to use the content of the prayers as a basis for their homilies or to supplement their homilies on Sundays. Those giving retreats or days of recollection can use the new texts of the missal as a resource for their presentations. All can make use of the texts for deepening their prayer life.

Anglican Priest Turns Catholic And Starts Blogging About It

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: A local friend recently called my attention to a trend we're probably going to be seeing a lot more of in the near future. All over the world, Anglican priests are reconciling their faith with the Roman Catholic Church, and many of those priests are going on to be ordained as Catholic priests. Of course, just as soon as the Personal Ordinariates are set up by the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), we're going to be seeing them cross the Tiber en masse. One of them is Father Chori Johnathan Seraiah of the Anglican Church in America, the U.S. province of the Traditional Anglican Communion. He's started blogging now, and I think my readers will find his story interesting. You can read his blog "The Maccabean" here.

Christmas Vacation For 'The Catholic Knight'

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  I will be taking the rest of the month off from blogging to honor Christ's Advent and Nativity.  Should any significant news break, I will break my silence to comment on it.  But outside of a major event effecting our faith or world, 'The Catholic Knight' retires for the Christmas season.  HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
