THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  First and foremost, I want to thank you all for the well wishes on my vacation.  I had not intended to blog again until well after the holy days.  However, during my flight to my warmer destination, I got to experience first hand the new TSA security guidelines.  Or maybe I should say I got to experience first grope the new TSA security guidelines.  After arriving to my destination, I was treated to Internet headlines and pictures that resembled my experience.  One that struck me as particularly disturbing was the religious sister being groped by a female Muslim.  So, as a result of all this I decided to break my intended silence for a little remote blogging.

As I stand on the warm shoreline of my winter hideaway, I am uploading via my iPhone some of the photos we've all recently been treated to on the Internet.  I want to stress something to my readers.  It does not bother me one bit that a female Muslim was groping a sister religious.  What bothered me was that she was being groped in the first place.  I wouldn't care who was doing the groping; be it a Christian, Jew, Buddhist or Hindu.  However, the fact that it was a Muslim has a poetic symbolism to it.  I thought, "shouldn't this be the other way around?"  But then I stopped myself, "No," I thought, "Neither one of these good women should suffer such indignity."  This is just wrong in every way.

The headline read across the DrudgeReport; "The Terrorists Have Won!"  I believe Matt Drudge is right.  You can bet these images have already been broadcast across Al Jazeera.  The Islamists are laughing their socks off right now.  They have won, and the United States has become the very thing we once hated.  Only a government on par with the Soviet Union, Red China, and Nazi Germany would subject it's own citizens to such an invasion of personal sexual privacy.  Just think of it; what the Catholic Church has been given so much grief for, because of just a tiny fraction of predator priests, the TSA now does to thousands of people (even children) EVERY DAY who go through their airport security check points.  Yes, we have become our own worst enemy.  We are the enemy now!   Our own government, in the name of protecting us, has actually become the very thing that violates us.  To make matters worse, it's completely unnecessary.  Israeli airline security has successfully averted terrorist attacks for over thirty years, and they've never implemented such invasive procedures.  Americans have been calling for the implementation of Israeli-style airport security for years now, and our federal government has responded with a deaf year.  Instead, the TSA prefers the ever more invasive "radiation or groping" method.  Stop and consider this for just a moment, the very same people who not long ago told us we couldn't even bring fingernail clippers or baby bottles on an aircraft, are now feeling up our husbands, wives and children!  If that doesn't bother you than either you're closing your eyes to it, because you haven't experienced it yet, or else your conscience has been seared.  There are some who have suggested that something even more sinister is behind all this.  Some have suggested that this is political payback for the November 2nd election results.  I don't know if that's true or not.  I suppose it could be, but it is speculation.  Regardless of the cause, there is only one word that can describe this federal government's new TSA "enhanced security" procedure -  "EVIL."

I am calling upon every one of my readers to do the following and spread the word.  If you should be pulled aside in an airport for "enhanced security screening," than do the following...

1. Refuse the x-ray machines (They are dangerous!  Especially if you're pregnant, over age 60, under age 16, or suffer from any chronic illness.)
2. Inform the TSA agent that you will submit to the frisking, but your religious beliefs will be violated if they touch your breasts or genitals.
3. Request the badge number of the TSA agent before they get started, and try to have a friend or family member video tape the frisking (if possible).
4. Do not make a scene or hold up the line anymore than it takes for you to do these basic things.  Be calm, cool and collected.  Make no fuss, just let them do their thing.
5. If they violate you, quietly leave the area once they're finished, then call your lawyer and tell them you would like some help filing a formal complaint and a lawsuit.  Then ask your lawyer to help you call the District Attorney of the city in which the violation occurred so that criminal charges can be filed against the TSA.
6. Write a letter to your U.S. congressman and U.S. Senators respectfully explaining your outrage at the TSA policy that violated your privacy and religious beliefs.
7. Lastly, write a letter to your airline, explaining that the TSA is hurting their business by violating your privacy and religious beliefs, and you will change airlines to the first one that offers a non-TSA screening process for boarding.

I've already got the ball in motion in my case.  I do hope you won't be afraid to do the same.  I don't blame the poor TSA officer who was compelled to do this, but I do blame the federal government for compelling him in the first place.  If we let them get away with this, then we are letting them frighten us into silence.  Hmmm.  Isn't that what sexual predators do?

De Facto Shariah Law in America

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: I've been harping on this for a while.  The so-called "separation of church and state" will ultimately give rise to state supported Islam, just as it already has in Europe.  Here's the problem.  Secularism is neither a religion nor philosophy.  Secularism is a vacuum.  It is the lack of religion or philosophy.  If there is anything we should know about Natural Law it is that nature abhors a vacuum.  The lack of religion and guiding philosophy must be filled.  Human nature demands it.  There is no way around this.  Expecting human beings to live without a guiding religion to direct their society is about the same as expecting dogs to be well behaved in a city park without human owners to train them.  Human beings are spiritual creatures.  That is what makes us unique in nature.  It's what gives us the discipline to use our brilliant minds to create things such as laws, buildings, roads and commerce.  Without this spiritual dynamic, human beings would be little more than highly evolved apes, hiding in the jungles, using very simple tools to do basic rudimentary tasks.  It is our spiritual dynamic that gives us discipline, and allows us to put aside our primal needs for the greater needs of the community.  Like it or not, human beings are spiritual creatures, and even if you're an ardent Atheist, you have to admit that religion has played a vital role in bringing civilization to where it is today.  So to expect human beings to live without religion is stupid.  It defies their very genetic makeup, and it doesn't work.  Unless one has consciously chosen to abandon religion, a human being by his very nature will gravitate toward something, be it Christianity, Islam, Wicca or New Age.  This is normal.  It is the natural law.

The advantage to having a society built on a Christian foundation is that when people, who were not raised with religion, reach that point in their lives when they start searching for religion, they are far more likely to settle into a Christian religion.  This works to society's advantage when that society is indeed built on Judeo-Christian morality. Secularism, however, seeks to undermine that, removing the impression of Christianity from schools, government, and the public square.  The fact that Secularism attacks Christianity disproportionally to all other religions is indisputable.  In part, this is because Secularism has been instituted primarily in Christian countries with only a few exceptions.  It's also because Secular authorities are for the most part afraid to censure any other religious practice besides Christianity.  They rarely ever censure the Jews, because they fear charges of anti-Semitism. They rarely ever censure Islam because, well, to put it mildly, they fear what the repercussions might be.  Again, Wicca and New Age are rarely censured for fear of charges of discrimination.  The fact that neither religion is organized helps them as well.  In fact, the only religion that is relatively "safe" for Secular governments to censure is Christianity.  It is fairly well organized, and therefore defined, making it an easy target.  Furthermore, Christians are taught to be non-violent, which helps eliminate negative repercussions once censure has occurred.  Lastly, Christians are usually not a minority, so charges of institutionalized discrimination will not likely stick.  It is, for the most part, the perfect target!  So when Secularist governments go to work, it is almost always the public recognition of Christianity they seek to censure.  I could go through the pages of examples to make my point but why bother?  These cases are well documented for anyone who wants to see.

Of course, in such an environment, Islam is given an advantage.  Secularists fear Muslims.  That's right, I said it, and I'll say it again.  SECULARISTS FEAR MUSLIMS!  That's why you'll never see a United States federal court rule in any way that censures the public recognition of Islam.  Therefore, it is inevitable that Islam will continue to grow and flourish in the United States, not because of freedom of religion, but because Muslims are given considerably more freedom of religion than Christians in this land.  For example, public school children can go on field trips to a mosque but not to a church.  Public school children can show displays of Muslim worship on school property, but not Christian worship.  Cities can establish festivals celebrating Islamic Americans, but not Catholic Americans or Protestant Americans.  Now American government officials are openly talking about establishing Shariah Law (Islamic law) communities in the United States, similar to what already exists in Europe.  The question is, would these same government officials permit the establishment of Canon Law (Catholic Church law) communities in the United States as well?  Why not?  If heavily Arab neighborhoods can have Shariah Law, than why can't heavily Irish or Hispanic communities have Canon Law?  It only seems fair, right?  Oh, but the mere suggesting of such a thing calls down the cries of "separation of church and state!" from the Left wing lunatics running this country.  Therein lies my point.  Secularism only applies to Christians.  This has always been the case and it always will be.  No Western government would dare apply the same Secularist demands upon the Muslim community.  They wouldn't dare.  So what does this mean?  It means Secularism gives an unfair advantage to Islam.  We didn't notice this fifty or sixty years ago because there were not enough Muslims in our part of the world to make an impact.  That is starting to change now, and like Europe we are discovering that our own Secular laws put our Christian civilization at a disadvantage.

As time progresses, and Islam is given more public recognition than Christianity, it will inevitably gain more converts.  Why?  Because when people raised in non-religious homes begin looking for a religion, (and nearly all of them eventually do), they will see a bright and shining mosque set on a hill before them, in plain and open sight, without any restrictions imposed upon it at all.  Meanwhile all the churches will be cowering in the shadows, hoping not to attract the attention of the state, lest they be sued again for some violation of the "establishment clause."  Yes, Secularism is becoming a de facto Shariah.

TEA Party Puts GOP On Notice

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  Something remarkable happened last Tuesday (November 2nd, 2010), and it's something the national mainstream news media WILL NOT report, nor will the Republicans publicly acknowledge.  Even the Democrats are hush about it.

Last Tuesday the nationwide grassroots TEA parties fired two opening salvos in what has become the turbulent waters of the Second American Revolution.  The first shot was aimed directly at the hull of the USS Democratic Party.  A direct hit was received, and the ship was heavily damaged.  She is now taking on water and beginning to list.  Her captain, Barack Obama, is publicly denying the severity of the damage.

Now here's the part nobody wants to talk about.  The second shot was fired directly over the bow of the USS Republican Party, and it happened in the choppy waters of Colorado's gubernatorial race...

That's right, take a good look at this three way race.  The Democratic candidate, Hickenlooper, won by a fairly good margin, but look who came in second.  That would be Tom Tancredo, former Republican congressman, running as a candidate for the American Constitution Party in Colorado.  The Republican candidate was left with only 11% of the vote.  The two way race here was between Hickenlooper and Tancredo.  Maes, the Republican, was the third wheel in this whole thing.  In this race anyway, the Republican Party was relegated to third-party status.  While the American Constitution Party became the real contender.

A few weeks back I predicted Tancredo would actually win the race.  I was wrong.  However, he did steal the conservative vote - virtually all of it!  What does this mean?  It's simple really, and it's a shot across the bow of the USS Republican Party fired by none other than the Colorado TEA parties.  The message to Republicans is plain and clear.  If I may paraphrase it goes something like this...

"Okay Republicans, look over at your rival ship the USS Democratic Party.  See that big hole in her side?  See how she's taking on water?  Well if you don't perform the way we expect you to, that will be your ship next.  We don't need the USS Republican Party.  We can field our own candidates if necessary and run them on whatever party ticket we want - be that Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, whatever is available.  First we'll sabotage your races, until your party is defunct, then we'll take what's left of your base right out from underneath your nose.  By the time we're done, there won't even be a Republican Party anymore.  So this is your last chance to impress us and you better make it count."

Tancredo's race was the beginning.  It was a loud and clear message sent directly to the Republican Party courtesy of the TEA parties.  Shape up!  We can sink your ship even faster than the Democrat's ship.  So keep that in mind.  This is not your grandmother's tea party.  This is the wrath of the American voters made manifest for all the politicians to see.  That "R" behind your name no longer protects you.  It just means you have two years left to prove yourselves worthy.

The war is far from over.  Already Catholics from around the nation are beginning to rally to the call of The Catholic Knight made last month.  They are constructing the signs I suggested in their own creative ways and preparing to show up to the next wave of TEA Parties.  One creative version comes to us from Steve Mueller and family...

Materials and paint cost less than $10.

As requested in my previous blog entry on this subject, these faithful Catholics have created bright yellow signs with the word "SUBSIDIARITY" written across it.  (Learn more about this here.)  In my original post last month I imagined hand written signs on yellow construction paper.  Mr. Mueller has taken this to a whole new level.  Using discarded window blinds he cut them into the shape of submarines, spray painted them yellow, and stenciled the word SUBsidiarity across them.  The catch phrase being: "Sink communism, save the family!"  You gotta love it!  There is a deep symbol of irony to all of this.  I'll let you amateur historians figure it out.

So let the Catholic SUBmarines sail out of port this coming year, and let "phase two" of the Second American Revolution begin.  You thought last year's TEA Parties were a spectacle?  Just wait until the Catholics come out.  You haven't seen anything yet!

Five 'Church of England' Bishops Defect To Rome

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  In what is sure to be the first wave of several, five Anglican bishops have left the Protestant Church of England to join the pope's emerging Anglican Ordinariate within the Catholic Church...

(Reuters) - Five Church of England bishops opposed to the ordination of women bishops will take up an offer by Pope Benedict and convert to Roman Catholicism, heralding a possible exodus of traditionalist Anglicans.

The bishops will enter full communion with Rome through an ordinariate, a body proposed by the pope last October to let traditionalists convert while keeping some Anglican traditions, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales announced.

The ordinariate will let married clerics become Catholic priests, in an exception to the Vatican's celibacy rule, but not bishops. Married Anglican bishops who convert may be granted a special status almost equivalent to their former rank.

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, head of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion, accepted the resignations of two bishops directly under his authority, Andrew Burnham and Keith Newton, "with regret." He wished them well "in this next stage of their service" to the Christian faith...

So begins the slow death of the Church of England, and the rebirth of Anglican Catholicism in full communion with the worldwide Catholic Church.

(AFP) – This month’s meeting will also deal with the thorny issue of how Anglicans disgruntled with the Church of England’s policies on gay marriage and women priests can be integrated into the Catholic Church.

The Vatican in 2009 announced that such converts would be welcome.

The consistory call coincided with an announcement by the Catholic Church on Monday that five Anglican bishops are to convert under Benedict’s offer.

The Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales said it welcomed the decision by the bishops “to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church”.

In a statement, the five bishops said they had been “dismayed, over the last 30 years, to see Anglicans and Catholics move further apart on some of the issues of the day.”

They said the Vatican offer was a “generous response to various approaches to the Holy See for help and a bold, new ecumenical instrument in the search for the unity of Christians.”

Obama Administration Considering Mandate Of "Emergency" Abortions At Catholic Hospitals

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  In the latest of many anti-Catholic gestures by the Obama administration...

(Catholic Culture) - The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services is considering the American Civil Liberties Union’s request that the administration require religious hospitals to offer “emergency” abortions.

“We have acknowledged receipt of letters from the ACLU and an organization holding the opposite view, but have taken no other action,” said Ellen Griffith, spokeswoman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. “All we can say is that the matter is before us for consideration.”

The one thing I'll give the Whitehouse credit for is consistency.  This Democrat controlled administration has regularly and consistently made insult after threat to the U.S. Catholic Church.  Now we have the latest.  If such a policy were implemented, it would force the shut down of every Catholic Hospital in the nation, and Obama knows that.  This is a calculated move on the part of the administration.  It may be a threat of some sort. 

Whatever the case it's just another event in the litany of anti-Catholic gestures made by liberal Democrats from the Whitehouse, Congress and the mainstream news media.  It's yet one more reason why if you support the U.S. Democratic Party, you are directly supporting the enemies of the Catholic Church.  To be a Democrat in today's world, is to be an anti-Catholic, whether you intend to be or not.

Why Democracy Will Fail

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: While we're still enjoying the calm after the storm of the 2010 congressional election, leave it to "The Catholic Knight" to reintroduce a healthy dose of reality. I absolutely LOVE the above video because it points out the fallen nature of man and the inevitable demise of our own man-made self governing system called "democracy" or "republicanism." This video has already caused a lot of Liberals to cringe. They fail to see the subtle irony in Michael Voris' conclusion that only faithful Catholics should be allowed to vote. He doesn't really believe that literally. He's trying to make a point, which is completely missed on Liberals (both on the Left and Right) who are blind to see it. The nature of man, specifically the fallen nature of man, dictates that democratic self-governance will ultimately fail. Historically the shelf life of a democracy is about 200 years. The United States hit it's expiration date in 1976, two-hundred years after the revolution that gave us independence. Our current government hit it's expiration date in 1988, two-hundred years after the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. Historically speaking, based on the precedence of democracies and republics that have gone before us, we are spoiled goods sitting on the shelf waiting for the clerk to notice we've passed our expiration date. Every day we continue to exist is borrowed time. We should rejoice in the pro-life victory of this last election, and we should strive for bigger victories in the next election, but we must realize that all of these victories might possibly save some unborn babies, but they won't save this republic. They might postpone the inevitable fall of our nation, but only temporarily.

The modern world is headed toward a return to monarchy. It is as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. That's because monarchy is the default form of government. It is the natural state of man, and history bears testimony to this. It is also the most stable form of government ever devised, and history bears testimony to this as well. Someday, our democratic form of republicanism in this nation will fall, and I imagine other democratic nations will fall immediately thereafter as well. The reasons for this are clearly spelled out in the video above. When the fall comes, chaos will follow, but what will emerge from that chaos will likely be a return to imperial Christendom, with kings and princes ruling the provinces formerly known as the United States of America. A benevolent monarch rules by the principle of Subsidiarity, which means that forms of democracy will still exist, on the local level. However, on the national level this form of government will be dispensed with entirely. You say it can never happen? It's happened before - multiple times. There is no reason to believe that history won't repeat itself. Sorry, that's just how human history has always worked.

BREAKING: Catholics Decided The 2010 Election!

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  As exit polling data is analyzed a new trend is breaking.  As predicted by some pre-election demographic polls, there has been a seismic shift in the elusive Catholic Vote...

After the McGovernization of the Democratic Party in 1972, Catholics were left homeless: they felt betrayed by the Democrats and were leery of the Republicans; they have been up for grabs ever since. Last night they proved once again that of the three major religions in the U.S., they are the ones that count most: Protestants never abandon the Republicans, and Jews never abandon the Democrats.

The poll includes cafeteria Catholics who have not practiced the faith in a while, so this is really good news for practicing Catholics.  The percentage is likely much higher among them, perhaps ranging from 80% to 90%.  The bottom line is this.  If you're practicing the Catholic Christian faith, you vote pro-life.  If you insist on calling yourself "Catholic," and yet you don't practice the Catholic Christian faith, you tend to vote with the Church's enemies.  It's an indictment of those who are called "cafeteria Catholics."

Regardless of skewed polls that include heretical apostates, who insist on calling themselves "Catholic," the data shows that a majority of those who identify themselves as such, whether they practice or not, are abandoning the Democratic Party.  This is good news no matter how you slice it.  As Cardinal Designated Burke put it some time ago, the Democratic Party is slowly becoming the "party of death" and those Catholics who associate with it are embracing the culture of death.  Likewise, the Democratic Party has increasingly become more anti-Catholic in recent years, from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's deliberate attempt to redefine Church doctrine on abortion in 2008, to President Barack Obama's repeated appointments of pro-abortion cafeteria Catholics to the highest offices of the land.  This is compounded by Obama's serious consideration of legislation and executive orders that would result in the closing of Catholic hospitals across the nation, and his divisive speeches at liberal "Catholic" universities which are clearly designed to drive a wedge of schism into the U.S. Catholic Church.  Furthermore, local and state chapters of the Democratic Party have been repeatedly caught running anti-Catholic ads during election seasons, often without remorse or apology.  Liberal Democratic states have adopted policies that have already shut down Catholic charities in those regions, while one of the most ardently Democratic cities in America, Speaker Pelosi's home town of San Francisco, has actually passed an anti-Catholic ordinance publicly condemning the Pope, the Catholic Church and calling upon Catholics in the city to disobey Church teaching.  As a result a class-action civil rights lawsuit has been filed against the city.  This is the NEW Democratic Party in action, and now that Catholics are leaving it by the truckload, it's only going to get worse.  The Democratic Party has become a liberal version of the "Know-Nothing Party" from ages past.  The unofficial "official" position of the party is that the only good Catholic is a bad Catholic, meaning one that does not follow the teachings of the Church.  Hence the reason why apostate Catholic politicians like John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi are the little darlings of the Democratic Party, while faithful Catholic politicians like Bobby Jindal and John Boehner are considered "dangerous" and a "threat."  The Democratic Party and the liberal establishment have become anti-Catholic to the core, and any Catholic who votes with them is voting along with the enemies of the Church, whether he realizes it or not.

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT:  Tonight the voters of this land sent a clear message to the immoral big-government tax & spend Marxists running this country.  "You can take your TEA and shove it!"  This is not your grandmother's tea party!  Tonight the Democrats were removed from power - (I predict for a very long time) - and the Republicans were just put on probation.  Pay particular attention to the Colorado governor's race, because that is the future of American Christian conservatism.  Tonight, the TEA Parties began to merge with the CONSTITUTION PARTY, as an example of what happens when the Republicans don't perform.  I'm afraid the Republicans are going to have to nearly walk on water in the days ahead if they want to get reelected.  Five years from now, it may not be the Democrats vs. Republicans anymore.  It may be the Republicans vs. Constitutionalists!

Lastly, I just want to add this.  A new trend is emerging with Catholic voters...

Something historic just happened here.  Perhaps we're starting to see the emergence of the ever elusive "Catholic Vote."  If the U.S. bishops will now just follow the lead of the Pope and Cardinal-Designate Burke that just might happen.  Here's the deal, and I do hope some U.S. Catholic bishops read this.  This election may just be a tidal shift of Catholics following the current trends, but in spite of that, it means that for the first time in a long time a sizable number of U.S. Catholics are voting on the Pro-Life side of the isle whether that really factored into their decision-making process or not.  That means that Catholic bishops in the United States now have an unprecedented window of opportunity not seen in a generation or more.  Now that the majority of U.S. Catholic voters are on the Pro-Life side of the isle, the bishops now have a grand opportunity to keep them there!  Its much easier to keep people where they are than trying to convince them to move somewhere else.  If the U.S. Catholic bishops will congratulate Catholics for seizing the opportunity to vote Pro-Life (whether they intended to or not), then come down hard on why it's so important to keep voting Pro-Life, backing their words with action, excommunicating Pro-Abortion politicians and the like, the message will get across.  U.S. Catholics will hear it and understand.  For the first time in a long time, they won't feel guilty about how they voted in the last election, and they'll be encouraged to keep doing the right thing.  In a way, the U.S. Catholic bishops have just been put on notice as well, but in a positive way.  Here's your victory on a silver platter bishops, now don't squander this great opportunity to get your message across.

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: The U.S. 2010 Congressional election is sure to be a historic one. There are many issues that face us, but for Catholics there is one issue that is a litmus test for all others. That is the Right to Life.

The long and short of it is this. If a candidate supports legalized abortion (which is murder of the unborn child), for any reason whatsoever, that candidate is morally defective. Such a candidate is dangerous! Yes, that's right, I said DANGEROUS! Here is the reason why. Any man (or woman) who would so cheapen the life of an innocent child is liable to do far worse on other moral issues. Such a candidate cannot be trusted to "do the right thing" on any issue, because he/she has already stated a willingness to do the wrong thing on the most morally pressing issue of our time. This is the main reason why our government, and our economy, is so screwed up now. We have elected candidates to office who are morally defective, and are unable to do the right thing on so many issues that its left this nation politically and economically shipwrecked. How could we honestly expect it to end up any other way?

Furthermore, the teachings of the Catholic Church are crystal clear. Any candidate who comes out in favor of abortion, for any reason, has just disqualified himself/herself from public office. Any voter who cannot see that is morally blind! Catholics have no excuse. To vote for a pro-abortion (so-called "pro-choice") candidate is to directly violate the teachings of the Catholic Church. It is to commit a mortal sin and cease to be Catholic. There is only one reason that could possibly justify a vote for a pro-abortion candidate, and that is if there is literally no other candidate running who is pro-life. However, in the United States, such situations rarely ever exist. Even if both of the two mainstream party candidates are pro-abortion, one can almost always find a third-party candidate who is pro-life. So in the United States, there is no excuse. If you knowingly vote for pro-abortion candidates, you become an apostate and cease to be Catholic. You have just committed a mortal sin and are now in danger of Hell's fire.
